Children's depression
Children can also suffer from depression. There are situations, which can't be absorbed by children's psyche: divorce of parents, death of a pet, move to another place, overrated demands, physical or moral humiliation, etc. children's psychological structure is different from that of adults and thus is revealed in a different way:
1. A child can be sad or irritable, react aggressively to adults' remarks or, on the contrary, show total indifference.
2. A child can have low self-appraisal. It considers itself to be bad, stupid, forsaken and lonely.
3. It constantly moans and snuffles, complains of boredom.
4. Change of appetite. It can increase and decrease.
5. It becomes hyperactive, constantly fusses, runs, drops everything from its hands, or becomes immobile, looks at the window all day long or lies constantly on the sofa.
6. A child can't concentrate his attention, have its head in the clouds, do home task for a long time.
7. Progress in studies decreases, studies become uninteresting. Mistakes and lapses leave the child indifferent, and it doesn't want to correct mistakes.
8. A child is easily tired, it seems that it is tired in the morning and is unable to study.
9. Communication with peers becomes difficult. Other children don't show interest in depressed children.
10. A child has suicidal thoughts which are revealed in the form of various fantasies on the topic of death or wish to visit dead relatives.
These symptoms are to abstract to diagnose depression. That is why when your child has spoilt, think about depression. Children rarely want to annoy their parents on purpose. Parents and teachers usually misunderstand the situation and only aggravate it by their incorrect methods of upbringing. This problem becomes increasingly urgent, because statistics shows that children's suicides occur more often and their number increases greatly from year to year.
