Psychological depression
The concepts of psychological depression and mental depression are different. Mental depression, fortunately, occurs less frequently. This is a set of heavy psychiatric symptoms, which requires only medical assistance. In the absolute majority of cases when an ordinary person says, that he/she is depressed, he/she means psychological state, which severely poisons his/her life, and is easily corrected by lifestyle change. So what is psychological depression and how to cope with it?
Psychological depression is a temporary condition. It is correctable unlike clinical depression. Psychological depression is not a disease in the true sense of the word. In the majority of cases, it stems not from internal malfunction in the body but from disappointment in life and the surrounding people.
Psychological depression is a reaction of disappointment and dissatisfaction in a specific manner. Initially, it is a normal human reaction to abnormal conditions of life. This is a reaction to resentment and frustration whether they are real or false. But if the state of psychological depression is prolonged, the human mind gets accustomed to this state and these reactions. Psychology of a person changes. He/she begins to experience psychological depression much more than it is caused by external factors. Thus it becomes no longer a normal reaction to abnormal conditions of life. In fact, the state of psychological depression becomes similar to a conditioned reflex, and repeats at every opportunity.
Psychological depression is often a form suppressed aggression. People suffering from this type of depression are often aggressive in general but suppress this state. Indeed, if a person is aggressive and dissatisfied with the reality, he/she would try to destroy this reality, to reduce the emotional stress and improve his/her life. But social conditions do not always let this person realize this aggression and give way to it. Thus, he/she is likely to suppress this state. But this suppressed negative energy doesn't fade away and is transformed into a permanent recessed irritation. In this situation there is no opportunity for psychological comfort. It leads to suffering from the suppressed emotions and sadness. Gradually comes the psychological state of depression.
Aggression is one of the manifestations for the instinct of self-preservation. If an individual is not aggressive, it won't survive in the world. Another case is the measure of this aggression. It means any human being can be aggressive in different situations. Our life is so varied that sooner or later it will bring you to this condition, and simultaneously will prevent you from demonstration of this state. It happens all the time. It inevitably leads to depression. That is why psychological depression so widespread. That is why no one can avoid it.
The very state of psychological depression and its manifestations are extremely unpleasant. People experience constant changes in mood; low spirits are treated as a real tragedy. Bad mood and psychological instability don't favour psychological comfort. A person can't get along with people and arrange his/her personal life. Gradually due to psychological depression all life of a person is destroyed. Problems with communication, friendship, love and career emerge. Experiences become increasingly tragic. This state leads to unfortunate consequences:
1. Psychological depression transforms into clinical one.
2. All personal and social life of a person destroys. All plans, hopes, dreams are collapsed.
3. Suppressed aggression spills outside. This can be dangerous to surrounding people.
4. The risk of suicide emerges, because a person can't change his/her life.
Psychological depression is curable! But it is very difficult to treat it without assistance. The visit to a competent professional psychologist is needed.
